Managing Partner Michael V. Worgul, is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy¹  (NBTA) as an expert trial attorney in the area of Criminal Defense. Michael is one of the few attorneys in the Pittsburgh area with this certification. Why does this matter?

“A National Board of Trial Advocacy Certified Attorney has demonstrated skill and expertise in a particular field and has proven it through rigorous examination and testing by the NBTA. The NBTA, and other organizations accredited by the American Bar Association must demonstrate that lawyers certified have an enhanced level of expertise and substantial involvement in the specialty area of certification.” (NBTA)

Obtaining this certification is difficult. The successful lawyer must: 1) demonstrate actual trial experience, 2) pass a rigorous exam, and 3) provide confirmation from other attorneys, prosecutors, and judges. Unlike other un-accredited agencies²,  an attorney cannot simply pay for NBTA certification. It must be earned.

NBTA is an approved agency by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Civil Trial and Criminal Trial approved December 1998, last re-accredited for 5 years June 1, 2014 – June 1, 2019 (Civil and Criminal).
